Take a Tour of Bosco
A few weeks ago, Jake and I were back aboard our beloved Bosco boat, and it piqued our adventurous spirit again. We’ve lived aboard the boat as cruisers, constantly going from one place to another and rarely staying put. And then we’ve also lived aboard over a long, cold winter where the boat stayed in one place for months on end. Depending on the situation her living quarters could be adjusted to situate our needs.
I say all of this because I was asked to put together a short little video tour of Bosco boat for a colleague and friend. And I realize that it has been FOREVER since I’ve really looked at all that raw footage just sitting and collecting dust, waiting to be released to the world. It was a hard loss, the hard drive with all working video footage files, and I still don’t have enough power in my old [computer] system to crank out the rest. Maybe someday. But that doesn’t mean I couldn’t put together SOMETHING.
You all may or may not remember, but our sweet little boat was not always the symbiotic working dream that she is today. We had a massive overhaul done to her before our cruising days began. What did she get…lets see…? a 29HP Yanmar Diesel , upgraded electrical systems, a BDXP Seafrost refrigeration AND freezer unit, a 2000 Watt Pure Sine Inverter (PSI), an eMarine Wind & Solar Hybrid Solution (keeping her powered indefinitely), a new 60-gallon polyethylene fresh water tank, a custom 6″ Handcraft Latex Mattress for our V-berth, a Nature’s Head Composting Toilet (best thing in the world speaking from experience on ours’ vs others’ boats), refurbed and reinforced sails, a dodger, a semi-full enclosure, custom water-catchment system, super-beefy Rocna anchor…you get the idea…the list really does go on and on.
Looking through some of the old footage I found a folder labeled “Cribs” and completely forgot that we actually made an homage to the MTV show that features celebrity homes. Ours was, of course, a very silly version of that show with lots of Jake’s kooky antics. I never actually got around to making our cribs episode, and thought about doing it with the old footage.
Instead, I took bits and pieces of that along with a few other snippets of videos (some unpublished and others that were published) and put together a S/V Bosco boat tour video. It doesn’t cover every nook and cranny of the outer-boat nor is it life-altering, but it satisfied my colleague’s requirements (I removed all of the silly stuff – sorry guys and Jake), and if you haven’t ever seen our boat’s innards before, well here is your chance!
Here’s the Sale’s Pitch:
SV BOSCO sleeps 5 comfortably with a V-berth up front and an aft quarter-berth that can be closed quarters when guests stay aboard. This clever layout also offers a large, open navigation station with a fold-down chart table. SV BOSCO has plenty of headroom, a generous-sized head to starboard, hanging lockers, a full-sized wrap around galley and very comfortable opposing settees. Her cockpit is generously sized at over 7 feet and her maximum beam at 11.5 feet. She has a cockpit shower, stern rail gate and firm mount swim platform and ladder. She has proven herself ocean-worthy time and time again (and we love her).
Hope you all enjoy!
Love, Jake and Jill
Wow – I cannot believe all the upgrades you two have done to Bosco! IMPRESSIVE!!
Aww thanks Steve! It was a lot of work but totally worth it!
