Two Souls One Voyage
If you know us at all, you’ve probably heard us talk about this once or twice before. Well friends, the time has finally come. Jake and Jill are about to set out on a new adventure; an adventure of the grandest scale (and no I don’t mean children). This is not one based in the mountains, or on a rock-face in the middle of the desert, or even one in a new city. Our next adventure is that of the sea and there, the world will become our playground…our back yard…our home.
We have given notice to our places of business that we are moving on. We have the time and date set to go shopping….SAILBOAT SHOPPING. Once we’ve bought the boat ((to be named Sailing Vessel (SV) Bosco)), we will put our house on the market. Then it will be a very short countdown from the time we leave to the time we move to our new home…on our boat. From there our lives will be a whirlwind of travel, boat-work, adventure, boat work, practice, boat work and who knows what else…except more boat work.
I am sure you all have many questions and we will try to provide answers for those questions (feel free to email us at any time). We plan on sharing this adventure with everyone who wants to hear about it…and the story begins here and now.
As we move though this transistion we will try our best to keep everyone well-informed on just how the heck we’re making these crazy next steps happen, and even how we got here in the first place. Why did we decide to do this? How do you go from having an amazing job, an amazing home, nearly all of the things you want right at your fingertips, to leaving all of it behind just for adventure? How can we manage to live a happy, comfortable life on a small 31 foot sailboat without all of the creature comforts we’ve known our entire lives? How the heck can we afford to go on this adventure in the first place? This is a tiny snippet of the multitude of topics we will cover from all the time leading up to this decision, to planning and preparation to actually departing, and of course all the wild and craziness that comes afterward. And we look forward to sharing our adventures with you right here.
If you want to stay tuned with us, feel free to
Hey Jake , good luck on your new adventure , although very little you know you ‘re a guy that would certainly be one of my best friends, do not know if I’ll see you in person when you go to the meeting of the MDP but wish you all happiness the world.
Enjoy
Your friend Marcelo of Brazil
Marcelo!! Great to hear from you! There are lots of guys at MPG I wish I had more time to spend with but…alas that is life. Facebook and Blogs make it easy to keep in touch these days. If we ever make it down to Brazil we will get in touch.
